Spalted Maple Plywood

 

Our spalted maple plywood comes in various sizes and is constructed with a spalted maple veneer over a sturdy baltic birch core. This product allows for all the flexibility that plywood offers while adding the unique spalted maple design touch. The veneer allows for some control over design matching within a single project - but remember that the spalting pattern in every group of plywood we process is like a snowflake - no two are the same.

 
 

Uses:

Plywood can be used for a variety of construction and decorative projects such as wall paneling, doors, furniture and cabinetry.

  • Color range: Color range in spalted maple is highly variable, with a base surface of bleached tan, interspersed with inky black spalting lines.  

  • Character markings: The range of character marks in spalted maple is highly variable. It will contain a balanced spalt lining, tight knots, fine cracks, bark inclusions, random tap holes, discoloration from maple sugaring hardware, impact from insects, and many other characteristics imparted by its long life in the natural world.
